  Objective  
 
To improve the income level of small & marginal farmers by reclaiming potentially fertile alkine lands
To test and demonstrate to farmers the technology involved in the reclamation and management of calcareous saline sodic soils and the associated improvement on farm water management and cropping practices.

28643 ha. sodic area out of which 14249 ha. barren area brought under green cover for the first time.
445.58 km main drain remodeled and make functional.
162.48 km drain-cum inspection path has also been contructed.
913 km link drain constructed/rehabilitated.
4157 new borings drilled and developed.
total borings equipped with pumpsets 7075.
Generation of additional irrigation potential 19428 ha. area through new borings.
1362 ha. area brought under horticulture/inter-horticulture
Regular crop-production with improved yields "paddy 30 qt/ha. and wheat 26 qt/ha."
7075 WUG 's formed which are functional.
