Objective:
- To improve the income level of
small & marginal farmers by reclaiming potentially
fertile alkine lands
- To test and demonstrate to farmers
the technology involved in the reclamation and
management of calcareous saline sodic soils
and the associated improvement on farm water
management and cropping practices.

- 28643 ha. sodic area out of which
14249 ha. barren area brought under green cover
for the first time.
- 445.58 km main drain remodeled
and make functional.
- 162.48 km drain-cum inspection
path has also been contructed.
- 913 km link drain constructed/rehabilitated.
- 4157 new borings drilled and
developed.
- total borings equipped with pumpsets
7075.
- Generation of additional irrigation
potential 19428 ha. area through new borings.
- 1362 ha. area brought under horticulture/inter-horticulture.
- Regular crop-production with
improved yields "paddy 30 qt/ha. and wheat
26 qt/ha."
- 7075 WUG 's formed which are
functional.
- 1377 Women self help groups formed.
